INFORMATION
A Brief History:
Meijiza Theater is proud to celebrate its 140th anniversary, with a legacy dating back to performances by the "Three Tomita Brothers" in 1873. Once a humble open air theater, Meijiza has evolved into a state-of-the-art theater, bringing forth performance art from traditional Kabuki to modern day musical productions and serving as a home for various theater companies and artists.
The Theater extends its deepest gratitude to fans and supporters, whose patronage throughout the years has allowed it to endure and survive numerous fires, wars, and natural disasters. With the continued support of visitors from far and wide, the Theater looks forward to entertaining guests with quality works for another 140 years and beyond!
